Commercial trucks are inherently more dangerous than passenger vehicles. You might argue that these commercial vehicles are driven by trained professionals, which makes them safer. But these professional drivers are also under enormous pressure to make deadlines. This often leads to tired, distracted, and possibly intoxicated drivers staying up for countless hours without taking any breaks. When you take these factors into account, the danger is quite obvious.

You also need to consider the physical attributes of commercial vehicles. Semi-trucks and similar vehicles have very poor braking systems compared to smaller passenger cars. It can take these vehicles hundreds upon hundreds of feet to come to a complete stop. This means that by the time truckers see a potential hazard up ahead, it is already too late to avoid a collision. In contrast, the most modern passenger vehicles can come to a complete stop within just a handful of feet. In addition, commercial vehicles suffer from much worse handling compared to smaller, more nimble passenger cars. Finally, the weight and size of these vehicles means that collisions are much more likely to result in serious injuries.

If you have been injured by a commercial vehicle in New Jersey, it makes sense to get in touch with a personal injury attorney at your earliest convenience. Our legal professionals can help you fight for your rights and strive for fair settlement that reflects the true extent of your damages. These damages might include medical expenses, missed wages, emotional distress, and much more. Remember, the statute of limitations may prevent you from taking any legal action whatsoever if you delay for too long.

Trucker Praised for Driving Nuclear Material Across the United States

Recently, a trucker who received training in New Jersey was celebrated for her role in transporting tons of nuclear material across the United States. She has been given an award for racking up 4 million miles without a single incident.
